The Freestyle Mixology Competition has once again held at Copenhagen Distillery where we celebrated our 10th anniversary. Freestyle Mixology has changed and adapted over the years but this year was truly special.
About Freestyle Mixology
Freestyle Mixology is known for its unique and innovative competition structure that allows bartenders to express their creativity and skills in taste, speed, and innovation. The competition contents of the “Mystery Box” are kept secret, and contestants are given only short periods to conceptualize and create their cocktails. This competition has been one of the most popular in Denmark for the past 10 years and continues to attract talent from all over the country.
This year, the competition has surpassed itself by mixing a “cocktail festival” with the competition and by attracting a record number of participants and brands from the industry. A total of 19 bartenders competed this year, representing some of the best places in Denmark, including Nimb Hotel, Blume, Unda, and of course The Union Kitchen. With ten brands showcasing their products, this year has been a true showcase of innovation and creativity in the world of mixology.
In the end, however, there is only one who can win and this year the victory went to Aurelio Raposo from The union Kitchen in Copenhagen.
